Rafael García González has
traveled many roads, caminos, in his life. He has been a boxer,
he still plays soccer, and he makes his living painting intricate
decorations of flowers, butterflies, and birds. His wife
María and his three sons help him with
the painting. Come along with us as we get up close and personal with
this
artist and his family.

aficionados about "A few days with Rafael García
González," an artist in Pátzcuaro, Michoacán,
México.

As we travel "Los caminos del
artesano," you will see a quinceañera (a "sweet 15" birthday
party), visit a Mexican market place, and visit a copper smithy.
You will learn a recipe for carne asada, you will learn a dicho and
lots of idioms, and you will hear memorable stories.
There are
two complete
versions of the same 45-minute documentary on every DVD or videotape. The
first is narrated in English and provides English subtitles to
interviews conducted in Spanish. This is for those who do not speak
Spanish.

The second version is narrated in Spanish and has Spanish
subtitles for the interviews. This is intended for intermediate
to advanced students looking for a challenge in Spanish listening
comprehension.
For the very
advanced student, extra materials (a tale, a recipe, and an inspiring
story about Mrs. García’s sister) are provided in Spanish only
and without subtitles.
